Trust is the currency of the new economy

Trust us we are experts

Over the last few months I have come to firmly believe that ‘trust is the new currency of the web’.

Over the last few years with the explosion of social tools like twitter, facebook etc we have moved into a ‘connection based’ economy. In the new economy, individual relationships matter more than ever before. We know well from the real world that, in any individual relationship trust forms the basis of creating and nurturing a relationship.

Businesses today are trying to understand the modren web and the connected economy and adapt themselves to operate better in the new environment. However, they are applying old mindset and techniques to the new environment. Unfortunely ‘trust’ is not directly measurable just like ‘love’ – you can feel it and benefit from it – but you cant directly measure it.

Businesses that value trust in their relationships with customer take steps not to loose trust. Instead of trying to measure everything, ‘intution’ is a better guide to navigating the new trust economy. Get comfortable with intuition. This shift is forcing all of us to be more human.

To succeed in the new economy embrace trust and be human!
